Climate change software is power management software for your PC. We all know that climate change is a serious issue and climate change software helps to reduce your energy consumption using simple tools and tricks as well as by making existing tools a bit easier to use.

CutePDF is installed as a default printer so instead of printing to paper you can print all your files to pdf documents instead! That way they are very easily emailed or viewed without the unnecessary damage to our forests...

Enables sleep mode
Rather than using energy displaying a screensaver, climate change software turns off your monitor after a certain amount of time (you specify!). This ensures that if you're distracted for any reason (good episode of the simpsons on, hot goss at work etc) you won't be doing unnecessary harm to the planet!

Allows autoshutdown
Have you ever wished your computer could turn itself off after finishing a task? Instead of leaving your computer all night for that download or installation, set the timer to automatically shut down your computer after a given amount of time. You can enforce a shutdown (whether you have things open or not) or hybernate so the computer uses next to no energy at all if you don't want to lose your work.

Sets appropriate defaults
Whether its double sided printing, two copies per page or always printing to a pdf file rather than to paper, climate change software makes sure the default behaviour of your computer is appropriate!

Includes power saving backgrounds
You may not know that CRT monitors use significantly more energy to display brighter colours (whites and light colours) so we have included some darker desktop wallpapers to ensure your computer is consuming as little as possible. For those of you with LCDs, it's the opposite! A small amount of extra energy is used to display darker colours because the white bright light that's always on has to be filtered, so we've included some beautiful lighter wallpapers for you. Make sure you choose responsibly! And while it might seem like a very small amount of energy, the power is in the numbers!

Currently climate change software runs on Windows XP/2000 computers with .NET installed. We have chosen not to make this software compatible with Mac OS X, Linux or Vista as those systems give users more inbuilt control over power management and are often shipped with power saving features enabled.
